So who am I? I suddenly realized that after blogging for over three and a half years, I’ve never taken the time to tell who I am and what is currently on my heart.

I try to be groovy, green, and keep my heart gunk-free. I am God’s beloved and strive to live as an ordinary radical on this wild journey of life. I am a mother of 4 small children–Esther (9), Silas (8), Phoebe (3), and Asher (2). Believe it or not–fertility, pregnancy, and childbirth did not come easy to me and all of my children are definitely miracles.

I used to be a public high school teacher and cross country coach back in the day… I used to run competitively and enjoyed running marathons. Although my exercise regime looks very different now, I’ll always be a runner at heart.
I now homeschool Essi and Sy and that tends to be a daily adventure (especially in our new living quarters–see below)! For those who don’t know us, Sy is a special needs kid. He is allergic to all food. Seriously. He was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis and is now ironically undergoing the Gerson Therapy in hopes to heal him. We had the honor of sharing our story with Anderson Cooper and I’ve also had the blessing of helping people across the globe who are struggling with their health or the health of their loved ones.
He is in 3rd grade and Essi is in 4th grade. We also had another curve ball thrown our way as Essi was recently diagnosed with Austism Spectrum Disorder (Asperger’s) and a couple of learning disabilities to boot. Like we didn’t have enough on our plates already!  Phoebe is in full princesshood (have her say that with her lisp) and Ashy is a full-time walker and smiler. I cloth diaper (crazy I know) and our home/lifestyle has to be very green for Sy’s healing (and to also be good stewards of this earth). My husband, Jordan, is a firefighter and a paramedic and selflessly puts his life on the line in order to serve others. He is now using those skills in a whole new way–see below for that, too!
Back in 2001, God called us into full-time missions. Obviously, this was before we had kids. I had been on staff at a church for a few years and just loved it. During that time, God grabbed a hold of both Jordan and my hearts and asked us to leave it all behind. We gladly obeyed, stepped out in faith, and lived out of a VW Vanagon (with two large dogs) and traveled the country to raise awareness. Toasty, our “home” for that year, was super groovy and we just loved her. And that was the very beginning of our No Muck journey…

In December of 2013, we did what any person with a stable job, fancy house, and secure lifestyle would do: we walked away from it all. Why? Because God was calling us back into the original call on our hearts to fight against the injustices of this world. We began training for overseas missions with YWAM Orlando and haven’t looked back once since we ran after our dreams. Let us point out that this was not an easy choice. In order to make this happen, we’ve had to move our family into a fifth wheel camper as we continue to “decrease” so that others in the world may “increase.” Because of our journey with Sy, we are developing aquaponics technology to help train others to come alongside and educate poverty-stricken communities across the globe in food crises. Jordan’s medical background is being put to good use as he is also developing a medical training program and finding simple, natural, and “No Muck” ways to provide healthcare to those who have no access. I am supporting this effort as I am currently pursuing certification in aromatherapy and using essential oils for a multitude of purposes. We continue to take steps forward toward God using our family however He sees fit for His purpose. We were living on mission in every sense of the word but through a series of events, we had to put our dream of international missions on hold. We see now that this was all part of a bigger plan as we eventually needed to be stateside for Sy’s care and healing. So now missions is taking on a bit of a different look for us.

So now I blog to help others on their journey to total health–in all areas. God has given us a launching pad through Sy’s story and we want to inspire others to find health, peace, and happiness through clean and purposeful living… Strive for No Muck!

What a brigade, huh?
